Rain

Rain

Rain wash the dust of summer
down the sewage drain.
With the iridescent slick of boat tow
and vacation packed SUV streams flow.

No crab was spared
no dare un-dared.

All trails blazed victim
to the fall’s prickly vines.
Soon it will be just the fungi,
the wet woods, and I.

Smell the strange.
Lungs breathe change.
