Making Magic

My new NaNoWriMo novel is on it’s way. Wish me luck! And if you’re doing a NaNo or a work in progress, please feel free to leave a comment and tell us about it!

Magical Realism

I made up a little cover for it.

Dylan’s last exchange with his uncle, a disabled Vietnam veteran, prods him to question what he really wants in life. After his uncle dies, Dylan, considered ‘slow’ to his aunt, yet who possesses magical abilities, is shuffled into an adult boarding home where he meets an equally gifted young lady, Liona. Something happens in the group home that causes Dylan to run away, choosing to live homeless on the beach. It’s there he meets an old Vietnamese man who is familiar with Dylan’s sorcery, and who teaches him how to further utilize his abilities. Once Dylan grasps the power he has, he must choose between the world at his fingertips, or the one thing he’s ever really wanted.

  1. Your story sounds fascinating and heart rending!

I’m doing a YA fantasy about a demon-stained girl on a mission to free those the church has enslaved. But that will destroy the magic defense grid that protects the nation.

  2. Good luck! I didn’t officially sign up, but I’m participating on the sidelines to complete my novel. All the best 🙂
